  • Yes, you are able to make an appointment, however you will not receive a rebate through Medicare without a referral. If you are paying privately, the cost may be claimed back from your private heath insurance if your policy covers psychology. We recommend that you check with your provider.


  • In order to access Medicare rebates, you can obtain a referral letter and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP. Under a plan, you will be eligible to claim up to 20 Medicare rebates for a calendar year (currently until December 2022).   • Medicare rebates can be processed with ease online through our practice management software.


  • The cost of seeing a psychologist at Mindcheck Psychology will depend on a few factors. If you have a Mental Health Care Plan this will allow you to claim the Medicare rebate. For clinical psychologists, this rebate is $141.85 .
  • Sessions that are billed through Medicare are $225 during business hours. Sessions outside of business hours are $240. 


  • Please contact the clinic at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend your appointment. 
  • When you reschedule/cancel late, or do not attend your appointment, that appointment time slot may not be filled. This is a loss to the clinician who reserved time for you as well as other clients who are awaiting an appointment.
  • If less than 24 hours notice is provided a cancellation fee of $100 will be charged.
  • At times we understand that it may be difficult to keep an appointment due to sudden sickness, accidents or emergencies. In this situation please call the clinic as soon as possible, explain your situation and we will be happy to assist you. 


  • Yes, we are registered with these authorities and you can be referred to us through by your GP. 
  • Please note that Workcover sessions need to be paid for by the client at the end of sessions and this fee is may be rebated to by your employer. We have no ability to bill employers directly. 


  •  We can assist you in processing your session payment at the end of the session. We accept bank transfer or credit/debit card which may also be stored on file for future payments. 


  • Before booking your first appointment please contact us via phone or email to discuss service details .
  • Before your first appointment, we will send through a consent form which will include information about the service. 
  • After your first appointment, we will be able to book you at the end of each session or you can book via our online booking system.
